HARLEYD - Remarks: "HARLEY DAVIDSON WLA, 1942, engine number 42WLA52318. The 45 ci flathead engine is in itself a legend of the brand and even of motorcycling. This twin-cylinder 750 (precisely 740 cm3) develops 23 horsepower and is mated to a separate three-speed gearbox, controlled from the tank. The bike was prepared as a racing version by the excellent 'Machines et Moteurs' workshop, with notable improvements such as a carburettor and modern ignition, with a disc at the rear. The bike has not been ridden since it was rebuilt. This meticulous work has produced a highly successful result in the spirit of the typical '50s Daytona Beach Race.
