Description
Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz by Coolidge, 1979. An extremely rare extended-wheelbase version of the Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. It likely passed through Al Johnson, the Chicago-based Cadillac dealer well-known across the US, before ending up in Germany, where the current owner rescued it from the scrapyard and embarked on a major restoration. That seemingly endless bonnet, reminiscent of Tex Avery’s racing cars, lends it a particularly interesting American pedigree. We love its sheer excess – with its Continental-style side-mounted spare wheel, its spoked wheels, its intricately crafted roof and its abundance of chrome, not to mention an ultra-kitsch interior. Sale by private treaty. Viewing near Dijon on 16 October. Valuation report available on request. Standard vehicle registration document
