A PAINTED POTTERY FIGURE OF A GROOM
Tang Dynasty
Standing with legs apart on a rectangular base, both arms outstretched and hands clenched as if grasping the reins of a horse, wearing a short, fitted tunic tied in a knot at the waist and falling in overlapping folds above the knees, traces of red and green pigments.
25.8 cm (10 1/8 in.) high

The result of Oxford Authentication Ltd. thermoluminescence test no.266r16, dated 27 May 1981, is consistent with the dating of this lot.
