Marque et probablement époque Yongzheng (1723-1735)
A RARE BLUE AND WHITE 'LANCA' DISH
Yongzheng mark and probably of the period
Painted to the interior in tones of vivid blue of with a large central lanca character, circled by four bands of smaller lanca characters, the reverse similarly decorated, the base with a six-character Yongzheng mark within a double circle.
26.5 cm (10 3/8 in.) diam.
Provenance:
Formerly in the collection of Alexander Constantine Ionides (1810-1890), thence in the family through his daughter Chariclea Ionides (1844-1923), aunt of Basil Ionides (1884-1950), and in the family by descent.
