TWO SILHOUETTE AGATE SNUFF BOTTLES
Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th century
Each of flattened rounded square shape, both cleverly worked using the natural inclusions of the stone, one carved in relief with a galopping horse and rider, the second with a tethered horse.
6 cm (2 3/8 in.) and 7 cm (2 3/4 in.) high (3).
Provenance:
Formerly in the collection of Louis Lemcovici (1910-2010), thence by descent in the family.
