A COLLECTION OF FIVE PAINTED POTTERY JARS
Neolithic period, Yangshao-Majiayao culture, and Warring States period
Each with broad rounded shoulders tapering towards a flat base, the sides applied with loop handles, all but one freely and boldly painted in black around the body and neck with geometric patterns, one jar with an impressed design.
The tallest 41 cm (16 1/8 in.) high (5).
Provenance:
Acquired in Brussels and Hong Kong between 1989 and 1995.
A Belgian family collection.
