AN IMARI TRIPOD FOUNTAIN AND COVER
Japan, Edo period, 17th/18th century
Supported on three 'bijin' feet, the pear shaped body rising to a fluted bulbous neck, set with a loop handle, the cover surmounted by a knot, richly decorated around the body with cranes in a serene landscape, surrounded by pine trees, tranquil ponds, and blooming flowers.
35 cm (13 3/4 in.) high (2).
