Par Miyamoto Kanenori, daté Taishō 2 (1913)
The blade:
Sugata: hira-zukuri;
Hamon: suguha;
Bōshi: kaeri fukai;
Horimono depicting the Rokkasen (Six Immortals of Poetry) together with a poem by each of them from the Kokinshū, within rectangular cartouches;
Nakago with one mekugi-ana, signed and dated:
"Tenran Taishō ni-nen shi-gatsu / Teishitsu Gigei'in Miyamoto Kanenori hachijū-yon-sai saku
天覽大正二年四月 / 帝室技藝員宮本包則八十四歲作
(Presented to the Emperor in the fourth month of Taishō 2 [1913], made by the Imperial Household Artist Miyamoto Kanenori at the age of eighty-four)".
In a wooden shirasaya storage scabbard.
Accompanied by a certificate of registration issued by the Hiroshima Prefectural Board of Education, dated 13 July 2016 (Heisei 28), no. 82863.
Total length 40 cm (15 3/4 in.); the blade (nagasa) 23.5 cm (9 1/4 in.) long (2).
