20. 20W ARMURE EN FER LAQUÉ BRUNE
Japon, période Edo (1615-1868), XIXe siècle
The iron armour lacquered brown and laced in blue with beige and green highlights, comprising:
a kōshōzan-shaped 32-plate russet-iron suji-bachi kabuto, finished with a four-stage copper tehen kanamono, fitted with brown-lacquered fukigaeshi and a five-lame shikoro, embellished with a gold-lacquered wood gunbai-shaped maedate with a floral family crest;
the brown-lacquered menpō (red-lacquered inside), fitted with a four-lame yodarekake;
the okegawa ni-mai dō, fitted with seven sections of five-lame kusazuri, six-lame chū-sode, kusari kote, Etchū haidate, and shino suneate; with one wooden storage box.
161 cm (63 3/8 in.) high; kabuto (bowl) 26.5 cm (10 3/8 in.); menpō 17.5 cm (6 7/8 in.) (2).
