Cet imposant catalogue, introuvable, qui cite plusieurs dizaines de milliers d'ouvrages, n'avait jamais été réimprimé. Il se répartit ainsi : Volume I : Dendrology part 1, XX pp, [1 f], 566 pp - Volume II : Dendrology part 2, VI pp, [1 f], 926 pp - Volume III : Arboriculture. Economic properties of woody plants. X pp, [1 f], 806 pp - Volume IV : Forestry. XIII pp, [1 f], 589 pp - Volume V : Index of authors and titles, subject index. XXXII, 1008 pp.

"Efforts to establish an inventory of world flora to facilitate the conservation and use of plants are currently hindered by the lack of knowledge regarding the correct scientific (latin) name and popular names of plants".

Ce catalogue qui recense et décrit plus de 4000 livres et articles met en évidence à la fois l'importance de l'œuvre du naturaliste suédois et l'extraordinaire richesse du British Museum. Sans l'index paru en 1936.

Cette bibliographie est extraite du monumental ouvrage de l'auteur : Symbolae Antillanae. seu fundamenta Florae Indiae Occidentalis où elle a paru dans les volumes 1 (pages 1 à 195), 2 (pages 1 à 7), 3 (pages 1 à 13) et 5 (pages 1 à 16). Les commentaires sont en allemand. Introuvable.

Livre célèbre qui a été réédité à plusieurs reprises tout au long du XVIIIe siècle. Il est cependant devenu très difficile à trouver. Nombreuses planches hors texte de jardins, à double page. Figures dans le texte.
