Casque chef d'ilot Défense Passive. Casque Adrian modèle 1926, attribut de la Défense Passive recouvert d'un triangle vert, coiffe en toile cirée typique des fabrications d'armistice ainsi que la jugulaire dans le même matériau. Sur la nuquière on trouve l'inscription au crayon de papier JFP 39, casque entièrement reconditionné en peinture noire. On y joint son masque antigaz défense passive portant sous le couvercle la même mention au crayon JFP39, une bosse sur un côté. Au fond du boitier se trouve le certificat de garantie des établissements Letrange, sangle en toile présente, masque en très bon état avec cartouche datée 1939. Cette pièce provient de Saint DiéPetite Raon dans les Vosges où s'est déroulée l'opération Loyton conduite par le 2nd SAS de miaout a début octobre 1944 avec pour objectif l’ouverture des petits cols en avant de la 3eme armée US Patton. 100 parachutistes SAS, SOE, Jedburgh, 6 jeeps, 1000 maquisards GMA et 1RCV y participèrent. Le grandpère du vendeur, FFI Eaux et Forets puis GMA Vosges, participa à cette opération qui fût a la seconde plus grande opération SAS en France occupée, après SAMWEST en juin 1944 en Bretagne. Il sera pris par les allemands fin septembre et déporté a Dachau ou il mourra en avril 1945. Au décès de sa grandmère, le vendeur récupéra des objets caches ou abandonnes dans la ferme familiale et les maisons du voisinage, tous liés au maquis de la vallée. Ce n’est que bien plus tard qu'il eu connaissance des détails de l’Opération LOYTON. Passive Defence sector leader helmet. Pencil inscription JFP 39 on the neck guard, helmet fully reconditioned in black paint. Includes its Passive Defence gas mask with the same JFP39 pencil note inside the lid and a dent on one side. At the bottom of the can is the warranty certificate of the Letrange works, web strap present, mask in very good condition with cartridge dated 1939. This piece comes from Saint Dié Petite Raon in the Vosges where Operation Loyton by 2nd SAS took place from mid August to early October 1944 with the objective of opening small passes ahead of the US Third Army Patton. One hundred SAS SOE Jedburgh six jeeps one thousand GMA maquisards and 1 RCV took part. The seller’s grandfather FFI Eaux et Forêts then GMA Vosges took part in this operation which was the second largest SAS operation in occupied France after SAMWEST in June 1944 in Brittany. He was captured by the Germans in late September and deported to Dachau where he died in April 1945. On his grandmother’s death the seller recovered hidden or left items in the family farm and neighboring houses all linked to the valley Maquis and only later learned details of Operation Loyton.
