Important recueil agronomique copié pour la bibliothèque de l'imam zaydite al-Mutahhar
Yémen, imamat zaydite, fin du XVIe siècle
Manuscrit arabe sur papier à vergeures, 56 feuillets calligraphiés en naskh lisible à l'encre noire à raison d'une vingtaine de lignes par page, avec titres, mois et désignations végétales rehaussés en rouge ; nombreuses annotations marginales. Reliure moderne en maroquin brun estampé.
État : usures, taches, restaurations, annotations anciennes.

Contenu — deux traités agronomiques arabe :
Milh al-malaha fi ma'rifat al-filaha du sultan rasoulide al-Malik al-Ashraf 'Umar b. Yusuf (m. 696 H. / 1297) — traité majeur de l'agronomie yéménite médiévale, dont seules quatre copies sont aujourd'hui recensées par la recherche. La présente copie constitue la cinquième référence connue et, à notre connaissance, la seule à inclure les deux derniers chapitres complets.
Abrégé (mukhtasar) du traité agronomique grec attribué à Vindonius Anatolius (IVe-Ve siècle, Byzance), connu jusqu'ici par deux seules copies iraniennes conservées à Téhéran (Scardino 2015). Le présent manuscrit constitue ainsi un troisième témoin de cette voie de transmission gréco-arabe rare.
La dédicace de la page de titre identifie le commanditaire comme l'imam zaydite al-Mutahhar (m. 980 H. / 1572-73), fils et successeur de Yahya Sharaf al-Din, figure majeure de la résistance zaydite face à l'occupation ottomane du Yémen.

Arabic manuscript on laid paper, 56 leaves in legible naskh in black ink with red rubrications and marginal annotations; modern brown stamped morocco binding. Wear, staining and restorations. 30 × 20.5 cm (11.8 × 8.1 in.).
Contents — two Arabic agricultural treatises
The Milh al-malaha fi ma'rifat al-filaha of the Rasulid sultan al-Malik al-Ashraf 'Umar b. Yusuf (d. 696 H. / 1297) — a major work of medieval Yemeni agronomy. Only four copies are recorded in modern scholarship; the present manuscript constitutes the fifth known copy and, to our knowledge, the only one to include the last two chapters in full.
An abridgement (mukhtasar) of the Greek agronomic treatise attributed to Vindonius Anatolius (4th-5th century, Byzantium), known until now from only two Iranian copies preserved in Tehran (Scardino 2015). The present manuscript thus constitutes a third witness to this rare Greco-Arabic transmission route.
The dedication on the title page identifies the patron as the Zaydi imam al-Mutahhar (d. 980 H. / 1572-73), son and successor of Yahya Sharaf al-Din, a leading figure of Zaydi resistance against the Ottoman occupation of Yemen.
