Cette médaille commémore la fondation des Faisceaux de combat (Fasci di Combattimento) par Benito Mussolini le 23 mars 1919. Pendant la guerre d'Espagne, cette date symbolique a été utilisée pour marquer l'engagement des troupes volontaires italiennes (le C.T.V. - Corpo Truppe Volontarie) aux côtés des forces nationalistes de Franco. This medal commemorates the founding of the Fasci di Combattimento by Benito Mussolini on 23 March 1919.
