Carreau en faïence du U-507. En céramique colorée, représentant un chien assis, symbole du U-507. Ce carreau provient des ruines d'un bunker de Lorient dans lequel se trouvait le Soldatenheim. Au départ des allemands, le bunker a été sabordé. Ce carreaux a été retrouvé dans les vestige de ce même bunker. Un film Youtube a été réalisé à ce sujet. Carreau brisé et recollé. Fabrication Henriot Quimper. Après son temps d'entraînement initial à Stettin en Pologne dans la 4. Unterseebootsflottille jusqu'au 28 février 1942, il rejoint son unité de combat à Lorient, dans la 2. Unterseebootsflottille. L'U-507 est coulé le 13 janvier 1943 dans l'océan Atlantique à 600 kilomètres du Cap Saint Roque au Brésil par des charges de profondeur lancées par un hydravion américain Catalina de l'escadron VP-83/P-10. Dimensions 15,5 x 15,5 cm. Etat II+. U-507 faience tile. Coloured ceramic tile depicting the emblem of U-507. Recovered from the ruins of a Lorient bunker that housed the Soldatenheim. Following the German withdrawal, the bunker was demolished and the tile later recovered from the site. Broken and professionally repaired. Manufactured by Henriot Quimper. Dimensions 15.5 × 15.5 cm. Showing honest wear and patina. Condition II+. U-507 entered service on 13 January 1943 with the 4th U-Boat Flotilla at Stettin before joining its combat unit at Lorient, the 2nd U-Boat Flotilla. On 28 February 1943, while en route to the South Atlantic approximately 600 km off Cape São Roque, Brazil, it was sunk by depth charges and aerial bombs dropped by a Consolidated PBY Catalina of Squadron VP-83.
