Pencil, black ink, watercolour, 29,5 x 21,7 cm, wove paper, signed "J I Grandville", titled (edges sl. browned, traces of former mount on verso). - Charming caricature of a hardened fisherman. Jean Ignace Isidore Gérard (1803-1847) was a French caricaturist who signed his work as Grandville (with variations).
