C. 140 positive stereo glass plates in slide trays (10) and boxes (6), 4,5 x 10,7 cm. - Slide trays (metal, wood or plastic) from various brands: Métascope, Gaumont, Paris; ICA, Dreden. 95 stereo glass plates by Vérascope Richard, with captions. Views of France (Versailles, carnaval of Nice), Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia), North Africa (Algeria), Greece, Palestine, Canada, Thailand, the Netherlands, a.o. Other plates with family portraits, children, aquarium, windmills, forests, zoo... In the 1890s, a new system was introduced for glass transparencies in a much smaller format (45 x 107 mm) and intented for amateur use with compact multiple-viewers using replaceable slide trays making it possible to views larger numbers of positive glass plates in group of 20 or 25 without touching them. - Ref.
