Libri octo [...]. 2 (of 3) parts in 1 vol., folio: 149-[2-1 bl.], [76] pp. (without the 3rd part containing the maps; washed, some marg. dampst. throughout, occ. light traces of mold towards the end, some corners restored or reinforced, few spots throughout). - Important edition of Ptolemaeus' "Geographicae" as the first edited by the Spanish theologian, physician and humanist Michel Servet (c. 1509/1511-1553), who compared the Latin translation of W. Pirckheimer with the primitive Greek texts. In 1553 he was burned at the stake for heresy. Curious copy with extensive annotations in Latin in a contemporary hand throughout.
