Cum brevi eorundem descriptione, & gentilitiis toparch... 2 parts in 1 vol., folio: [8 incl. front. & dedication]-142-[1] ff., [10 incl. dedication]-108 pp.; 5 (of 6) maps (map of 3rd district (Antwerp) missing; occ. spotting, tear in text of leaf N1 (1st part) without loss nor affecting in-text ill.). - Third ed. (1st 1694) of this iconographic publication showing the castles and monasteries of Brabant. Trilingual Latin-French-Dutch printing. The first work is ill. with a nice front. engr. by A. van Diepenbeeck, identical to the front. of previous ed., 5 (of 6) double-page maps, 206 beautiful views of castles and leisure places, churches, abbeys and convents (in-text, single, double or folding); and the "schema metallorum" on f. [7]v. Also with engr. title-vignette, dedication and armorial headpiece. Etchings by G. Bouttats, H. Cause, J. Harrewijn... after F. Bauduin, W. Hollar, J. van Croes, and J. van Werden, etc. The second work, "L'érection de toutes les terres, seigneuries & familles titrées du Brabant [...]", is a collection of extracts from letters patent, dated from Charles V to Leopold I (1518 to 1694), concerning various Brabant lands. This complementary work, sometimes missing, is also found separately. Ill. with 1 double-page map of the Duchy of Brabant (the same as in the 1st work and therefore often missing), 1 engr. dedication leaf, 7 views of castles in-text and an armorial title-vignette. - Ref.
