The Marguerite food products company was founded in 1919 by E. Tony and E. Grussenmeyer.
It was not until 1920 that the company acquired, or had built, the factory in Schiltigheim (Bas-Rhin-Alsace).
Marguerite was a pioneer in the manufacture of ingredients previously made by craftsmen themselves, such as fillings, pralines, marzipan and fondants.
In 1991, the German company Boehringer Ingelheim acquired Marguerite, and in 2000 it was acquired by the CSM group.
