Description
A RARE Chinese blue-and-white hexagonal narcissus bowl. It is hexagonal in shape and features delicate blue floral patterns on a white background. The body, decorated with prunus blossoms on cracked ice, is intricately designed with cut-out sections and vertical ridges, giving it an ornate and almost architectural appearance. The upper rim is slightly flared and bordered by a band of vertical blue stripes and small, stylised cut-outs. The interior of the bowl depicts narcissus, whilst the rim is decorated with a floral or vine pattern in cobalt blue. Kangxi period, 18th century. D: 17.5 cm, H: 13.5 cm. Very good condition, two firing flaws.
