COAL MINES] - Arrest du Conseil d'Etat du Roy, portant règlement pour l'exploitation des Mines de Houille, ou Charbon de Terre (Paris), 14 January 1744. In-4, 7 pp. half-marble red bradel.
After a presentation to the king by the Conseiller d'Etat Philibert Orry, who since 1741 has put the intendants in charge of the administration of the mines, a decree in eleven articles is adopted. It sets out the conditions for operating coal mines and several points concerning their physical organisation, particularly in terms of safety.
