Game token purse bearing the coat of arms of Henri François d'Aguesseau (1668-1751), Seigneur de Fresnes, Chancellor of France, Keeper of the Seals, President of the Académie des Sciences, Knight of the Order of Saint-Michel, Officer of the Order of the Holy Spirit. Green velvet embroidered with silver and gold thread, lined with cream leather. Complete with its original cords. First half of the 18th century. The Château de Versailles holds eight purses, one of which bears the arms of Chancellor d'Aguesseau and is also stamped with a ducal crown. D'Aguesseau was one of the greatest jurists in French history. One of the four statues in front of the staircase of the Palais Bourbon (National Assembly) depicts him.
