This lot comprises three items: celluloid on original background + accompanying dôga — three production documents brought together. Cardcaptor Sakura is one of the most influential magical manga series in history — created by CLAMP, a collective of four female authors, it defined the aesthetic of the modern magical girl and influenced generations of subsequent series. Sakura Kinomoto — a ten-year-old schoolgirl who discovers magical powers after accidentally releasing the Clow Cards — is brought to life by a character design characterised by the softness and graphic precision typical of the CLAMP style.
The Madhouse adaptation (1998–2000, 70 episodes) is regarded as one of the finest manga-to-anime adaptations of the period — with CLAMP fully involved in the production and lead scriptwriter Nanase Ohkawa penning the scripts herself.
