Rum distilled on the Philippine island of Negros. The sugar cane used for this rum grows in fertile soil at the foot of Mount Kanlaon.
It is processed at a local mill, and the resulting molasses – also known as ‘black gold’ – is then transported to the Bago distillery. This rare and exceptional rum is first aged for several years in American white oak casks that previously held bourbon, then stored in selected, extra-charred casks, which impart complex aromas of fruit cake, cocoa and oak, as well as a hint of wild mint. This rum has a deep amber colour and a lingering finish. Unlike other rums, Don Papa Rare Cask is renowned for being unfiltered and unblended, and is bottled at 50.5% ABV.
