CUISINIER SUISSE (Le), ou instruction complète pour préparer de différentes manières et d'un goût savoureux toutes sortes de mets, tels que : potages, légumes, sauces, poissons, viandes de boucherie ou gibier, pâtisserie, entremets, confitures, liqueurs, etc. Bern, L. A. Haller, 1824. In-8, marbled boards (Binding of the period). First edition in French.
This book, which appears to be very rare, is unknown to Vicaire, Bitting, Oberlé, Cagle and others. Only one copy has been found in the bibliographies and catalogues consulted, in the Lacam sale of 2012.
In the foreword, the author (who remains anonymous) says: "The work I am offering to the public here is not absolutely new, since the third edition in German is already more or less out of print; but the great popularity it has achieved (...) have decided the publisher to have it translated into French...". G. Oberlé considers that this could be a translation of the Berner Kochbuch published by the same publisher, of which Weiss 323 mentions an 1803 edition.
