Fal-title, title, xxxvi-629 pp. - False-title, title, prospectus of 1808 (title and 88 pp.), viii-476 pp. and (1) f. of additions. Second edition, partly original, of this important treatise on mycology (volume I had first appeared in 1790). A physician and botanist, Paulet (1740-1826) discusses the history of discoveries and work on these plants, and gives descriptions, qualities, effects and uses of mushrooms, truffles, agarics, etc. Volume II contains the prospectus presenting a new edition of this treatise in 1808. Text only. The 6 index leaves are missing. The folio atlas, containing 217 colour plates, was published in instalments between 1808 and 1835. Ex-libris stamp of Emile Taillebois.
