Plate 1 KA DIV 24 PZ Div. Ceramic. Divisional badge in the centre of the piece. This type of badge dates from before 1943, when the divisional badge was changed. Markings around the edge 1 Ka Div 24 Pz Div RAR1 Pz AR 89. No visible manufacturer's markings. Diameter 24.4 cm. Some wear and patina. Condition II+. The division was formed from the 1. Kavallerie-Division based in Königsberg. After a period of training in East Prussia, the 24th Panzerdivision was stationed in France at Coëtquidan and then Mailly-le-Camp until February 1942. It was then reformed and reconstituted in the Falaise-Bernay region near Lisieux in April 1943 around Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 891.
