TWO NEVERS FAIENCE CHEVRETTES FROM THE LATE 17th CENTURY Decorated in "fixed white" with a cartouche formed by a plant garland and the inscription H.D'absynthe or S.De.Coingts, surrounded by birds and bunches of flowers, set against a "Persian blue" background, one foot restored, one spout restored; minor restorations, small chips and chips H. 24 and 24.5 cm (9 ½ and 9 ¾ in.) Provenance: Galerie Lefebvre, Paris ; Sale in Paris, Mes Briest et Guérin, Cotinat Collection, 20 June 1997, lot 175; Collection Mme H. de Jouvenel ; Apothecary's shop at the Saint-Joseph hospital in Moulins, commissioned by the Duchesse de Montmorency, circa 1645-48.
