A famous cookbook on Metz cuisine, albeit with a folkloric flavour, by the no less famous Auricoste de Lazarque. President of the Metz Academy and mayor of Retonfey, the author never opted for France. The Germans sought to copy this work and published *Die Metzer Kochbuch*. This work never achieved the success the Prussians had hoped for… However, it is rare today. The cover features a drawing by R. Wiener.
