Description
2005 - Porsche 911 type 997 Carrera S coupé French registration Chassis n°WPOZZZ99Z6S731236 - A neo-classic 911 for everyday use and a worthy representative of its lineage - 997 phase 1 coupé in S version with 355 bhp and automatic gearbox - Atlas Grey metallic with black leather interior and 19P Sport Design aluminium wheels - Original French car, 2nd hand in the same family since 2007! - Very good used condition for just 142,800 km with full service booklet - Numerous options, booklets, owner's manuals, spare keys and up-to-date MOT The 997 occupies a significant place in the history of the 911. After the 996, it was seen as a return to basics, with its design (round headlights and wider hips) more reminiscent of traditional models. However, it also made significant improvements to ergonomics and suspension, and above all introduced more powerful engines. This balance partly explains the car's success and the fact that it has been produced in a large number of versions, with over forty different models. Within this broad range, the 997 Carrera 'S' takes up an old name. Initially reserved for the sportiest versions of the 911, this name has been abused over the generations to designate only a sporty exterior, but it has finally come into its own again with the 997. The 997 Carrera S is powered by a 355bhp 3.8L flat-six engine, 30bhp more than the classic Carrera. Aesthetically, it is very similar to the classic Carrera, but differs in subtle details such as the twin tailpipes, the S logo, the sports steering wheel and the white instrument panel. Developed on the basis of the Carrera's 3.6-litre engine, the S's powerplant is vastly different: improved in a number of respects (compression, cooling, weight, etc.), it is more torquey and fuller at all engine speeds. In fact, it delivers 400 Nm of torque at 4,600 rpm, a figure in excess of 100 Nm/L that is quite exceptional for a naturally-aspirated engine. The 6-speed gearbox is well-spaced and reinforced, with a wear-compensating clutch that maintains a constant control effort. The sporty chassis and suspension are also unique to the S, which is 10 mm lower, and features variable-assist steering and PASM suspension as standard to enhance its dynamic qualities. These qualities can be further optimised with the sports chassis option and exploited thanks to the solid braking inherited from the 996 turbo. With its on-board electronics, the 997 Carrera S is a high-performance, efficient yet discreet everyday sports car. It is fully in keeping with the spirit and tradition of the 911, of which it is undoubtedly one of the most worthy representatives. The 911 type 997 in our sale is a 2005 Carrera S coupé of French origin, delivered new by the St-Maur dealership in the Paris region. This is a car with a clear history, having had just one owner before being acquired by the current owner's father in 2007. Available in Atlas Grey metallic (LM7X) with full black leather interior (AT), its sober, elegant appearance is enhanced by the optional 19-inch Sport Design aluminium wheels. Other options include an automatic gearbox with steering-wheel-mounted controls, cruise control, electric seats with memory, electric sunroof, rain sensor, rear windscreen wiper, Park Assist and PCM navigation module. The PCM navigation and infotainment system will need to be reactivated with the screen switched off. Regularly used and maintained, as shown by the comprehensive service booklet that accompanies it, this 911 has just under 142,800 km on the clock and is in very good condition. The roadworthiness test is less than 6 months old and the car is ready to drive. Generously equipped and in more than enviable condition, with its remarkable ownership and maintenance history, this 997, in one of the most popular versions of the 911, is the ideal car for anyone looking for a sports car that can be used without a second thought and is accessible: an everyday pleasure.
