Description
1976 Lamborghini Urraco P111 French registration document Chassis number: 20306 - One of only 22 Urraco P111s - The last P111 ever produced - Same owner since 2010 To meet US emissions and safety standards, Lamborghini developed the P111 version exclusively for the North American market. Produced in extremely limited numbers, this variant is now one of the rarest versions of the Urraco. Only 22 examples are believed to have been built for the United States, making these models particularly sought-after by discerning collectors. The example offered for sale is therefore of particular interest. According to the Lamborghini registry, manufactured in September 1976, this Urraco P111 was delivered new on 10 November 1976 in New York by the GMCC dealership to a company based in Pennsylvania. Bearing engine number 20306, it is best known for being the last of the 22 Urraco P111s produced for the American market. Over the course of its life, the entire emissions control system specific to the P111 version has been removed, allowing the mechanics to return to a configuration closer to that of the European versions. The current owner acquired it in 2010 and has since undertaken extensive work to keep the car in running order. According to the information provided by the owner (and the invoices he was able to supply us with), a major overhaul was carried out in 2013 when the odometer read approximately 28,900 kilometres. The work reportedly included the replacement of the timing belts, all four shock absorbers, the tyres, the ignition system, the wheel bearings, the clutch, the brake calipers and hoses, the suspension ball joints, as well as a complete overhaul of the electrical system. The alternator was also reportedly replaced, and the car was converted to European specifications with the fitting of headlights and bumpers compliant with models sold in Europe. Further work was then carried out regularly, including the replacement of the front brake discs, toe links and certain ball joints in 2022, the fitting of four new tyres in 2023, the replacement of the brake master cylinder in 2025, and further work on the timing and ignition systems in 2026. The odometer then read 51,415 kilometres. Despite these investments, our assessment and the MOT inspection carried out highlight several works that will need to be carried out. The car is currently undergoing a re-inspection and shows, in particular, perforating corrosion on the left and right rear side members. Repairs to certain bodywork components will also need to be considered. The handbrake is reported to be inoperative and the carburettor will need to be adjusted to optimise the mechanical performance. The last representative of the P111 line, this Urraco converted to European specifications is a unique collector’s item, combining a historic chassis number with a liberated aesthetic and mechanical configuration. 1976 Lamborghini Urraco P111 French Vehicle Registration Certificate Serial Number: 20306 - One of only 22 Urraco P111s - The last P111 produced - Same owner since 2010 To meet US emissions and safety standards, Lamborghini developed the P111 version exclusively for the North American market.
