Description
1969 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Registration Document: Collection Chassis number: 194379S734295 - Matching numbers with significant reliability enhancements - Over €78,000 invested since 2007 - Tremec 5-speed gearbox and fully modernised The car offered for sale was imported from the United States before being purchased by its current owner in 2018 from a professional dealer. Now registered as a classic, this Corvette has benefited from careful maintenance and substantial investment. The engine block is matching numbers, whilst the cylinder heads are believed to have been replaced during the vehicle’s lifetime. Prior to importation, the original carburettor was replaced with a Summit model, whilst the cast iron manifolds were replaced with stainless steel components, accompanied by a complete stainless steel exhaust system. The original power steering is still fitted, and the starter motor and flywheel have been replaced by the importer. Since 2018, this Corvette has undergone a major restoration programme. The overall appearance has been revamped with a full repaint in yellow – the car was originally white – along with the replacement of numerous trim components such as the interior seals, rear light covers and the fuel filler cap badge. The windscreen has also been replaced, with the windscreen frame repaired. Mechanically, the differential and limited-slip differential have been serviced, the engine and front-suspension bushings replaced, along with new rear bearings, wiring harness and tyres, electronic ignition, an Optima battery, a service of the handbrake, and the calipers replaced with O-ring models. All the dashboard instruments are in working order, with the exception of the clock. Of particular note is the 5-speed Tremec TKX gearbox, which is significantly more pleasant to use than the original 4-speed gearbox. The latter has been retained and is supplied with its drive shaft. Cooling has been optimised with an aluminium radiator and an adjustable electric fan, whilst braking has been significantly improved by the addition of a Mastervac system and an EBC kit comprising drilled and slotted discs, high-performance pads and aviation-grade hoses. Four Bilstein shock absorbers complete this cohesive package designed to make the car more efficient and composed to drive. This Corvette has also undergone a major refurbishment of its front end following a collision during a drive. The work, carried out by Lady Art Car (video of the work available on YouTube), involved the complete replacement of the front fascia, the bumper and its mountings, the grilles, headlight mechanisms and optics, with symmetrical components replaced as required. All the work was carried out by recognised specialists, notably Classic Affairs in Bourron-Marlotte and Lady Art Car in Moissy-Cramayel. A detailed file tracing the history of work carried out since 2007 is available on request, showing that over €78,000 has been invested in this Corvette. Finally, as part of its preparation for sale, this Corvette underwent additional work costing around €700, aimed at rectifying the faults identified during its first MOT test. Today, this C3 is a Corvette designed for regular use, whilst retaining the raw, iconic character of the great American sports cars of the late 1960s. 1969 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Collector’s Registration VIN: 194379S734295 - Matching numbers with significant reliability upgrades - Over €78,000 invested since 2007 - Tremec 5-speed transmission and modern usage The vehicle offered for sale was imported from the United States before being purchased by its current owner in 2018 from a professional dealer.
