Introduite en 1962, la Ferrari 250 GTO (pour Gran Turismo Omologata) marque l’apogée du développement des berlinettes à moteur avant de la firme de Maranello pour la compétition GT. Conçue sous la direction de Giotto Bizzarrini et finalisée par Sergio Scaglietti, elle est propulsée par le moteur V12 Colombo de 3,0 litres, développant environ 300 chevaux. Développée pour répondre aux exigences d'homologation de la FIA en catégorie GT, la 250 GTO s'est illustrée lors d'épreuves majeures telles que le Tour de France Automobile, les 12 Heures de Sebring et la Targa Florio, remportant trois championnats du monde consécutifs des constructeurs entre 1962 et 1964. Avec seulement 36 unités originales produites, ce modèle demeure un jalon technique et historique dans le paysage de la production automobile sportive du XXe siècle.
L’exemplaire présenté ici est une recréation de la Ferrari 250 GTO, construite à partir d’une Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 de 1964 (châssis n° 6149).
Initialement livrée aux États-Unis, cette voiture est ensuite revenue en France avant de faire l’objet d’un projet de transformation ambitieux.
La reconstruction repose sur l’installation d’une carrosserie en aluminium de 250 GTO fournie par un spécialiste britannique.
Celle-ci a été adaptée sur une base 330 GT dans le cadre d’une restauration complète. Sous l’égide des ateliers « Le Baron Sellier » de Rochetaillée, plusieurs ateliers spécialisés ont participés à cet incroyable projet : Garage Kayedjian pour le chassis, les établissements Bonnefoy pour le montage de la coque sur le chassis et les ateliers « Le Baron Sellier » pour l’habillage et le montage intérieur. L’empattement a été modifié pour correspondre à celui d’une 250 GTO (2,41 m). La boite 4 rapports d’origine a cédé sa place à une boite 5 rapports.
Le moteur 330 a été intégralement rénové par GTO Engineering qui a également fourni le faisceau électrique. 6 carburateurs Weber 38 venant d’Italie complètent l’ensemble. Ceux-ci ont été installé et réglé par le garage « ARS classic » au Castelet.
Tous les éléments mécaniques ont été intégralement repris : moteur, boîte de vitesses, trains roulants, système de freinage, échappement, électricité et sellerie. Un rapport d’expertise accompagne le véhicule et documente les différentes étapes de ce chantier.
Il s’agit ainsi d’une recréation fidèle de la Ferrari 250 GTO, construite à partir d’une base Ferrari authentique, avec conservation des numéros d’origine.
Respectant les lignes, les proportions et l’esprit du modèle d’époque, cette réalisation fidèle rend hommage à l’une des créations les plus emblématiques de Ferrari.

Introduced in 1962, the Ferrari 250 GTO (standing for Gran Turismo Omologata) marked the pinnacle of the Maranello-based firm’s development of front-engined berlinettas for GT racing. Designed under the direction of Giotto Bizzarrini and finalised by Sergio Scaglietti, it is powered by the 3.0-litre Colombo V12 engine, developing around 300 horsepower. Developed to meet the FIA’s homologation requirements for the GT category, the 250 GTO distinguished itself in major events such as the Tour de France Automobile, the 12 Hours of Sebring and the Targa Florio, winning three consecutive World Constructors’ Championships between 1962 and 1964. With only 36 original units produced, this model remains a technical and historical milestone in the landscape of 20th-century sports car production.
The example presented here is a recreation of the Ferrari 250 GTO, built from a 1964 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 (chassis no. 6149).
Originally delivered to the United States, this car subsequently returned to France before undergoing an ambitious conversion project.
The reconstruction involved fitting a 250 GTO aluminium body supplied by a British specialist.
This was adapted to a 330 GT chassis as part of a complete restoration. Under the supervision of the ‘Le Baron Sellier’ workshops in Rochetaillée, several specialist workshops took part in this incredible project: Garage Kayedjian for the chassis, Établissements Bonnefoy for fitting the body to the chassis, and the ‘Le Baron Sellier’ workshops for the bodywork and interior fit-out. The wheelbase has been modified to match that of a 250 GTO (2.41 m). The original 4-speed gearbox has been replaced by a 5-speed unit.
The 330 engine has been completely overhauled by GTO Engineering, which also supplied the wiring harness. Six Weber 38 carburettors from Italy complete the package. These were fitted and tuned by the “ARS classic” garage in Le Castelet.
All mechanical components have been fully overhauled: engine, gearbox, running gear, braking system, exhaust, electrical system and upholstery. An expert report accompanies the vehicle and documents the various stages of this restoration project.
This is therefore a faithful recreation of the Ferrari 250 GTO, built from an authentic Ferrari chassis, with the original serial numbers retained.
Respecting the lines, proportions and spirit of the original model, this faithful recreation pays tribute to one of Ferrari’s most iconic creations.
