Presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1986, the Sierra Cosworth began as a three-door model with a large rear wing. The formula evolved with the four-door saloon, whose introduction is dated to January 1990. More restrained in appearance, it uses a 204 PS 2.0-litre sixteen-valve engine with a Cosworth cylinder head and Garrett T03 turbocharger. Rear-wheel drive and a sporting chassis support acceleration from 0–100 km/h in under seven seconds and a top speed close to 240 km/h.
Registered in January 1990, this example was delivered new by Ford Beauvais. It has the optional sunroof and French registration.
Its service book is stamped from new up to 2012, at 109,000 km. The current mileage is given as 113,000 km in the introductory summary and 112,000 km in the main source text.
With French delivery and its retained service book, this Sierra offers the prospect of rediscovering Ford’s sporting saloon of the period in four-door form.
