Description
A tibetan tangka representant "Śākyamuni". At the center sits a large, golden Śākyamuni in a meditative posture, holding a black alms bowl. He is surrounded by an ornate mandorla of gold patterns, lotus petals, and celestial beings. Around the central Buddha are numerous smaller narrative scenes illustrating important episodes from Buddhist stories and teachings. The upper portion of the thangka includes divine or enlightened figures seated on lotus thrones, stūpas, and symbolic imagery associated with wisdom, compassion, and enlightenment. The lower portion depicts additional scenes of teaching, meditation, and spiritual practice, as well as guardians and attendants.19/20th century. L :105 x 74 cm. Perfet condition.
