STATUETTE DE DIGNITAIRE En basalte, figuré debout, les pieds joints, les bras serrés le long du corps, ses mains reposant sur son long pagne. Le torse dénudé. La tête est aujourd'hui manquante. À l'arrière, pilier dorsal inscrit d'une colonne hiéroglyphique. Traduction : «Offrande que donne le roi à Osiris, Maitre de Busiris, le grand dieu Maitre (d’Abydos), afin qu’il donne une offrande alimentaire consistant en pain, bière...» - Courtesy of J.Billen H. 23,5 cm. Egypte, Moyen-Empire, XIIe-XIIIe dynastie, c. 1991-1650 av. J.-C. Provenance Anciennement avec la Fondation Rassla, Zurich A Middle Kingdom basalt statuette of a dignitary. Represented standing front, with straight arms and hands places on either flanks. Legs joined. The figure wears a long kilt with a projecting apron, secured by a knot at the waist.. The head is now missing. On the back, back-pillar with a hieroglyphic column. An offering which the king gives to Osiris, Lord of Busiris, the great god, Lord (of Abydos), that he may give an invocation-offering consisting of bread, beer..." — Courtesy of J.
