ÉMILE PUIFORCAT Lot de Deux Couverts Anciens Louche à soupe en argent doré (82,4 g) et cuillère à crème (78,2 g), circa 1857. La louche porte les poinçons d'Émile Puiforcat et Minerve, garantie de l'argent français au titre. La cuillère présente les poinçons d'Émile Puiforcat et Mercure en ovale tronqué — poinçon d'exportation pour l'argent de 2e titre (800/000), en usage à Paris et dans les départements du 1er avril 1879 à 1994. Précurseur de la célèbre maison fondée en 1820, Émile Puiforcat s'inscrit dans la grande tradition de l'orfèvrerie parisienne du XIXe siècle, dont l'excellence artisanale sera portée à son apogée par son descendant Jean Puiforcat au siècle suivant. ÉMILE PUIFORCAT Pair of Antique Silver Serving Pieces Gilded silver soup ladle (82.4 g) and cream spoon (78.2 g), circa 1857. The ladle bears the Émile Puiforcat maker's mark and the Minerva head hallmark, guaranteeing French silver standard. The spoon carries the Émile Puiforcat mark and the Mercury head hallmark in a truncated oval frame — the export hallmark for second-grade silver (800/000), used in Paris and the French departments from 1 April 1879 to 1994. A forerunner of the celebrated house founded in 1820, Émile Puiforcat stands within the great tradition of nineteenth-century Parisian silversmithing, a legacy brought to its highest expression by his descendant Jean Puiforcat in the following century.
