Manuscrit arabe sur papier filigrané — portant le filigrane F. Barjon à Moirans (Isère) — composé de 98 feuillets rédigés en écriture maghribi à l’encre sépia, à raison de vingt-trois lignes par page ; le décor polychrome rehausse certains mots et en-têtes, illustré d’un diagramme indiquant la position des hommes de l’invisible (rijal al-ghayb) et des âmes saintes (al-arwah al-muqadassa), tiré d’un texte soufi.
Reliure à rabat d’origine en maroquin couleur tabac.
État : le 1er feuillet pourrait être une adjonction postérieure.

Ce texte est consacré à la vie du Prophète Muhammad et à l’éloge prophétique, vraisemblablement destiné à l’usage liturgique des membres de la confrérie Isâwiyya, dont le fondateur Muhammad ibn ’Isâ — étroitement associé à la ville de Meknès — est mentionné dans le médaillon d’ouverture sous son épithète al-Sheikh al-Kâmil. Le papier filigrané de manufacture française — attestant de l’importation de papier européen dans les ateliers de copie maghrébins à la fin du XIXe siècle — constitue un indice de datation matérielle précieux, confortant la date du colophon.
Shaykh al- Mu’ta ibn Salih al-Sharqi (d. 1766/7), Dhakhirat al-Muhtaj, a devotional Arabic manuscript on the life of the Prophet, Morocco, dated 27 Dhu al-Hijja 1315 AH / 19 May 1898.
Arabic manuscript on European watermarked paper bearing the mark of F. Barjon, Moirans (Isère), including a diagram derived from a Sufi text. The manuscript was likely intended for the liturgical use of the Isawiyya Sufi order whose founder Muhammad ibn ‘Isa, closely associated with Meknes, is mentioned in the illuminated opening medallion under the epithet al-Shaykh al-Kamil.
