371 - Casque US17 nominatif de la 80th Division.

Estimation 130 € - 250 €

Description

Usure d'usage, patine. Named US M1917 helmet of the 80th Division. Fine complete US M1917 helmet in good condition. Diamond-shaped side insignia possibly corresponding to the 2nd or 3rd Battalion of the 317th Infantry, with later paint applied over it. Named to Luther Wells Tooker of Connecticut, who served successively in the 304th, 164th, 138th and 319th Infantry Regiments. As the 319th also belonged to the 80th Division, Tooker probably acquired the helmet during that assignment. Wear and patina.
