The translator was the distinguished French experimental physicist and professor Joseph-Aignan Sigaud de Lafond (1730-1810). Ill. with 65 fold. pl., numb. 1-64 with 11bis, the last one being the map "Tabula totius orbis terrarum, exhibens declinationes magneticas [...]", after E. Halley's chart of magnetic lines. - Ref.
