Autodidacte, il développe une pratique plurielle à la croisée du dessin et de la peinture, qu’il inscrit dans un courant qu’il qualifie de « Contemporealism », fusion entre art contemporain et hyperréalisme. Ses œuvres explorent des questions d’identité, de mélange culturel et de perception de soi. À travers le portrait, il construit des images fortes où couleurs, formes et symboles traduisent des expériences personnelles. Son travail, à la fois intime et ancré dans le présent, propose une manière singulière de regarder les identités contemporaines. EN Johnson Eziefula, born in 1998 in Lagos, is part of a new generation of African artists who are redefining the boundaries of contemporary art. Self-taught, he has developed a multifaceted practice at the intersection of drawing and painting, which he places within a movement he calls “Contemporealism”, a fusion of contemporary art and hyperrealism. His works explore questions of identity, cultural mixing, and self-perception. Through portraiture, he constructs powerful images in which colors, forms, and symbols convey personal experiences.
