Flanders Auctions is a privately owned and family-run international auction house specialising in antiques, design, and fine art. Our journey began in the 1990s when Pol Desmet, fueled by his passion for art and history, started collecting pieces from local art fairs, marketplaces, and antique shops. What began as a modest venture soon flourished, transforming a small garage into an antique shop. In November 1999, Pol and his partner Hilde took a bold step, renting a 1,000-square-meter showroom in Oostkamp, near Bruges, Belgium. By December 2006, the business, then known as Antiques Belgium, had established its headquarters and warehouse in Wildenburg. This new, strategically located facility near the E40 highway ensured smooth logistics and accessibility, paving the way for further growth. The family legacy continued with the next generation joining the business. In 2010, Lieven Desmet joined the team, followed by his younger brother, Steven, in 2016. Together, they brought fresh ideas and energy to the growing enterprise. In 2020, a new chapter began as Antiques Belgium evolved into Flanders Auctions, reflecting its transformation into an international auction house. Last year, 2025, the auction house moved to Roeselare, where the new headquarters will be for the future. Arts and Antiques auctions are being held every 6-8 weeks.
