Major Auction: Prestige of a Luxembourg Estate We are delighted to invite you to our next exceptional auction, organised to mark the sale of a major Luxembourg estate. This summer event is sure to appeal to the most discerning collectors thanks to a carefully curated selection of works of art, fine timepieces and designer furniture. Jewellery, Fine Watchmaking The auction will open with a remarkable selection of vintage jewellery and prestigious timepieces, including a highly sought-after Rolex GMT-Master II and a Cartier Ronde Folle watch, a true masterpiece of jewellery featuring a magnificent bezel and a grille entirely set with brilliant-cut diamonds. Modern & Contemporary Art This sale will feature fine works by major artists of the 20th and 21st centuries: Pierre Soulages (Lot 115): An exceptional etching (Publisher: Galerie de France; Printer: Lacourière-Frélaut, Paris). Robert Combas: ‘Portrait of Georges Brassens’ (1992), an acrylic on plate signed on the reverse. Bram Bogart: A powerful work dated 2001. Didier Triglia: “NANYUKI” (2013), a canvas with captivating shapes and colours. Johann Georg Müller: An abstract composition from 1967, listed under number M67/20 (page 74) in the artist’s catalogue raisonné (Verzeichnis der Malerei und Druckgraphik). The Luxembourgish artist Moritz NEY will also be featured through a significant collection of paintings, including “Les Cerises”, “Le Couple”, “Les cafetières” and “Les chevaux sauvages”. Great 20th-Century Design Lovers of modern design will be delighted by pieces from iconic designers: Jorge Zalszupin (Lot 146): The star piece of this section is the legendary “Petalas” coffee table, which still bears its original “l’atelier Móveis S.A.” label beneath the tabletop. Pierre Paulin (Lot 139): The incredible and iconic “Ribbon Chair” (1966), presented in its original “Momentum” fabric upholstery by Jack Lenor Larsen. Pierre Chapo: A beautiful pair of elm tables, from a special commission dating from 1976. Svend Aage Holm Sørensen: A rare and sculptural “Rocket” floor lamp. Cini Boeri: The spectacular, minimalist ‘Ghost’ glass armchair (FIAM Italia edition, circa 2007). Antique Drawings & Period Furniture This auction will continue in fine style, with classical masterpieces and fine cabinetry taking centre stage: Drawing (Lot 220): A sumptuous 16th-century Italian School red chalk drawing depicting ‘The Transfiguration’. Lot 210: A large Louis XVI ‘à la reine’ armchair, hallmarked by Jean-Baptiste LELARGE III (who became a Master in 1775), featuring magnificent Aubusson tapestry upholstery. An elegant Louis XV ‘entre-deux’ chest of drawers, hallmarked by the master cabinetmaker Adrien FLEURY and COULON. Lot 219: A spectacular and exceptional ceremonial cabinet attributed to Ferdinando Pogliani. This masterful piece in ebony and blackened wood is finely inlaid with ivory in foliage motifs and richly set with hard and semi-precious stones in cabochons or medallions (bloodstone, carnelian, agates, malachite). Street Art Finally, a superb collection of lithographs and screenprints by icons of Pop Art and Street Art will bring this auction to a close, including works by Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Yayoi Kusama, Mr Brainwash, Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselmann and Damien Hirst.
