Description
1974 Porsche 911 2.7 Targa British English version French registration document Chassis number: 9115110054 Originally supplied in France — three previous owners Targa body with removable roof panel Cometmetallic paint, code 406 For the 1974 model year, the Porsche 911 adopted bumpers with rubber bellows to meet US market requirements, while 2.7 litres became the standard engine capacity across the range. The Targa retained its distinctive brushed-steel roll bar and removable roof panel, combining open-air motoring with the character of a flat-six engine mounted behind the rear axle. Delivered new in France on 8 July 1974, this 911 2.7 Targa had three owners before its current keeper. It stands out for its Cometmetallic paintwork, code 406, documented by its Porsche certificate. The original engine has been replaced by a 2.7-litre S unit stated to produce 175 PS, providing more power than the original engine. The engine and gearbox are described as being in very good working order. Recent work is reported, without supporting invoices: servicing of the K-Jetronic fuel injection system and replacement of the fuel tank, clutch, alternator and timing-chain tensioners. With its Cometmetallic finish and Targa configuration, this example offers the prospect of enjoying the character of a classic 911 on country roads with the roof panel removed.
