Terms of sale
On 30 June 2026, our next Modern Art sale will bring together major works from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the founding period of artistic modernity. From Camille Corot to the avant-gardes embodied by Georges Valmier and Jean Arp, this selection illustrates the major aesthetic upheavals of its time. The delicate, dreamlike Symbolism of Jean-Francis Auburtin will take centre stage in several remarkable works. We will also be presenting several paintings by Jacqueline Marval, with their luminous, summery compositions. Around this ensemble will be works by Albert Marquet with a view of Algiers, Louis Valtat with his concert scenes, a portrait painted by Maurice Utrillo and luminous, colourful compositions by Charles Lapicque. Graphic works ranging from the finesse of Foujita's strokes to the assertive power of those of Bernard Buffet, Marcel Gromaire and Georges Rouault. Among these drawings, we'll be showing an extract from a page in the visitors' book at the Auberge Gloanec by Paul Gauguin, the emblematic artist of the Pont-Aven School. Watercolours in delicate, complementary shades by Paul Signac and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, as well as works by Picasso and Arp, will complete the sale. With a view to this sale, we are currently looking for works by these artists and their contemporaries linked to Impressionism, Fauvism, Symbolism, Cubism and the many movements that marked the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th.
