The collection of Mr Hugon, former owner and manufacturer of Helna inks, he had amassed a variety of prints to observe the rendering of his products. A friend of lithographers, but also of artists, his knowledge of his products enabled him to produce the desired rendering by participating in the production process.
He supplied many printing houses, but had a special relationship with Mourlot. This explains why so many of the posters and lithographs in this sale come from Mourlot, and why so many are dedicated to him by people in the studio or by artists.
He also worked with La Poste to develop fluorescent inks for stamps, to help mechanise postal sorting.
No public exhibition. HD photos are available for each lot.
No lot will be delivered without having announced your arrival at the auction room at least one day before.
All purchases will be placed by us in cardboard tubes at an additional cost of €10 per tube to all buyers (one tube contains approximately 8 posters).
It is possible to ask the auction house for a Colissimo shipment, or to send us a pre-stamped label for the shipment of your parcel.
